Terry is proud that he must work extra hard by doing two different duties on a road construction job site. He is upset when a new machine is brought in to do one of his important jobs. Terry is even more upset when the new teammate brags about how he can do the work better than Terry.

Some friendly wolves come by and Terry observes that two wolf cubs are having problems becoming good team members.

Terry considers quitting because he has not learned to become a good team player. As he ponders what to do, the wolves warn the machines that an earthquake is about to happen. Terry and the other machines try to escape the earthquake, and all are damaged by the falling rocks, but the new machine saves the others from major damage.

In the end both Terry and the wolf cubs learn to be good teammates.
